what about taking in a mini show on the way to the beach?
"Minis (along with other classic cars form the P76 club) will be displayed from 09:30am til 03:30pm. The display at Manning Park is held in conjunction with the Cockburn Fair, and entry is a gold coin donation to Variety.
The display at Manning Park is scheduled to be the biggest show of Mini's seen in WA and we are hoping to have in excess of 150 Mini's on display throughout the day. "
just a thought. |

Boz and I went over to Vic's tonight to nut this out... I'll work through the route and see how we can work this in... I reckon hooking up with the Mini's could be pretty cool...
Will post the planned route here ASAP... |

Ok, so I finally found some time to work this out....
As Dave suggested we swing by the Mini Car Day at the Manning Park Fair, I have figured out how we can do this run and include that special event into the festivities.... But be warned.... This is gonna be a long drive, so I suggest we do it in two stages....
Stage 1:
Hamburger Hill, Burswood: Bolton Avenue.
Left on to Great Eastern Highway.
Left on to Graham Farmer Freeway.
Through the tunnel.... Open your windows!!!!!
Left at the Kwinana Freeway off-ramp.
Down the Kwinana Freeway heading south.
Off at Leach Highway off-ramp.
Right on to Leach Highway.
Left on to Murdoch Drive.
** Re-group at Piney Lakes Reserve carpark. Look out for carpark entry on the right!!
Leave Piney Lakes Reserve, right on to Murdoch Drive.
Turn right on to Farrington Avenue, all the way to North Lake Road.
Left on to North Lake Road.
Right on to Phoenix Road.
Left on to Hamilton Road, then first right in to Azelia Road, Manning Park.
** Stop by the Manning Park Fair and have a look at the Mini Car Club and P76 Car Club displays and sample the Community Fair's finest! We will stay here for approximately 1 hour before getting back on the road.
Stage 2:
Leave Manning Park via Azelia Road, then left on to Hamilton Road.
Left on to Rockingham Road.
Right on to Hampton Road.
Left on to Duoro Road.
Right at the second roundabout, heading north on to South Terrace.
Then a lazy drive through the Freo Cafe Strip, straight on to Market Street towards the Fremantle Train Station.
Right on to Cantonment Street.
Left on to Parry Street.
Right on to Beach Street.
** Re-group at Munchies Cafe carpark.
Leave Munchies Cafe carpark and back up Parry Street, then left on to Queen Victoria Street.
Left on to the Queen Victoria Street traffic bridge.
Left on to Tydeman Road.
Right on to Port Beach Road, then carry on to Leighton Beach Boulevard and Curtin Avenue.
Left at the roundabout on to Marine Parade.
Cruise ends at the Cottesloe Council carpark, Napier Street, Cottesloe.
Eveyone cool with that?
Now cut and paste this plan into a WORD doc and print it out.... And don't forget your navigator on the day.... Your gonna need someone to tell you all where to go!
