Well I have been on this one for a while and finally got everything together to pick up a Kombi my old man sniffed out a fair while ago. Turns Dr Evil spotted it also seems he missed out by a whisker!
So im heading out next Week End for the pick up
Check out the Peace and Flowers on her... Perhaps a rat hippie bus... nah I wonder what the original paint is like... who knows need to get a closer look...
Anyway hope Dr Evil doesnt mind me linking his piccies...

Hippys left it at Gregs place many years ago when it got a yellow sticker.
Since then it's been used to store shoes and joyride on occasion. She still rune. Take some brake fluid and a spare 5wide wheel and tyre when you go and you will be able to drive it on.
The panel damage was done by yobs who were stuck at a bus stop, went at it with an iron bar.
Gregs kids painted the flowers and crap on it for laughs.
I spotted it on the way back from kal and couldn't find Greg at the time. So i took the 2110 on the 600km round trip on Tuesday. Minus the air cooling rubber that i hadn't had a chance to fit. It took me about 11hrs because i had to stop to let it cool. Greg told me that some bloke had said he'd have it but he hadn't heard from him in 6 months, so i could. Until Joel read my need a gearbox post. |

Dwarfed by farm machinary!
hmm an Tassie Bus... wonder if thats a good thing or a bad thing.. Greg said that when he found it he orginainally found it there was a map of where the hippies had been in it, that long gone now though it was pretty much around aussie...

Good score Joel.... So when does the fun start and is it true you plan to fit the Macky's canopy to the roof? |

Only if you plan to convert the Panel to a 'half-track' Bus! |

Well the Fun is starting right away, Purchased some paint stripper and scrapers to experiment to see what the original paint is like and so far it pretty good. I nice single tone misty grey I think. Looks like she's been repainted twice, the colour you see there and a dark green, either this or its signage. Being a panel it is pretty common for them to be commercial vehicle once in there life... Ill post pics soon
Just sent an enquiry about some repair section I am definatly going to need. I see no point in hanging about the sooner I get the section the sooner I can add new metal. Im going to start cutting section out shortly to get a closer idea of what exactly I need. For the carvan windows, at this stage im fairly keen to fill them in, though that welding is a little beyond me so ill leave it for now, might need a pro onto it. But luckily no extreme rust around them so I can leave them in though ill replace the seals on them.
Going to start stripping Bumbers ect very shorty. I would mind sorting out the flipped spindle's and perhaps a shortened beem with adjusters so I might strip that out staright away as well.
As for the Macky canopy Humpty you can only wish
and the half track idea well this one's not gonna be an off roader, that from me perhaps is a step forward... |

What of the Flipped Spindles? Is RobK still the guy for it? I read somewhere that all his bus work is been put on the back burner... |
