Can anyone advise if the splash guards inside the rear bumper of my split panel were the same colour as the body. Mine were galvanized along with the bumper at some stage, but I'm repainting. The galv was an OK "rat look" but not on my bus. bob

You mean the front seal?.... As in the flywheel seal?.... Some peeps call it the "rear main seal", but I don't get that.... The seal is at the front of the engine, not the rear!!!??

Or do you mean the the engine bay seal at the front of the engine bay under the fuel tank?

Question

Bus looks pretty! Very Happy

Its looking great - looks even better in person (well bus!) - can see its gonna be hard to keep it perfect!!

Yep the seal between the engine and the gear box - I suppose it could either be the front or rear seal depending which way the engine is facing - we stuffed the seal last time we installed the engine and oil pissed everywhere! Also we had a little adjustment problem with the clutch - Joel and I managed to tighten it to the point that you couldnt not drop the clutch - hence it didnt go anywhere!

Yep.... I can help you with the Flywheel Seal.... I have machined a tool for the job that is 100% reliable when fitting the seal... Never had one leak with this little gadget...

I can swing by next week and fit it for you if you like? I knock off work around 4pm.... Just let me know...

By the way.... Wish your old man happy birthday for me!

Will send along the birthday wishes - he has done pretty good this year - got a GPS from the combined family, got a VW suprise coming on sunday and picked up the Bus today - what a pressie there!

Yeah the old man had a great birthday weekend - he got another suprise today with Mum giving him a framed VW piccie - kind of an 'Andy Wahol' style print with a series of VW models.

Thought I better put a piccie up of him grinning in the bus
