I made a start on this Eureka yesterday for a good mate of mine

Plan at the moment is

Body off, fix rust, tart up running gear, fix electrics and see where we go from there

No way! A real piece of history.

Round truck taillights to suit the "Ferrari-esque" lines (maybe lights from a late '80s Skyline?).
Daytime running lights on front edge of bumper-line, with nostrils under.
Paint it red.
Make it REALLY fast. No, I mean REALLY fast........
Very Happy

Got into some work on the pan yesterday, dropped off the motor, box and the beam just to allow for setting it up on trestles to accurately remove the pan halves

Next step, dressing off the remainder and stitching in the new pan sections

Did some more work to the pan today, got the new halves welded in, sealed the joins from both sides and splashed a bit of paint around

Nothing fancy, just getting it fixed

Next step is to get the front end back on and then make new brake lines

Been a while since I have done some work to this but I will be giving this a good nudge over the next few months to try and get it back together

Working away makes it very difficult to get a good run

So after a big tidy up of the shed

I set the pan back up on stands and started going over all of the pedals, gear linkage and brake lines

I love some of vw's detail when it comes to stuff like that

My daughter thought this would look cool on a necklace

Just a quick update on this

Last time I was off work I got to using my new lever action brake flaring tool from Eastwood

It works real nice

Back into this tomorrow for a few days to try and get the pan squared off

Gave this a bit of a nudge today

Got all the hard brake lines made up and installed
Mounted the new master and started sorting out all the cables and pedal brackets

Getting closer to finishing this thing off
Should have the beam back on and all the new brakes on by tomorrow arvo
Onto its wheels so I can start tidying up the engine and box
