For those that know our bus and have spent much time chewing the fat over our recent restoration struggles, we finally switched panel-beaters this week.

The previous PB didnt take it well and made life very difficult/ stressful for us... we lost a shiteload of money... but i have a good feeling that now we are in safe hands and will be back on the road ASAP.

Some daylight pics up at Malaga...

Thanks to Dave and Jay for smoothing the path...

Cheers

Sam

Was your bus in that shop down here in Freo Sam?... Glad to hear you have it back, sad to hear it has cost you so much, but I hope it all pans out for you...

Keep us in the loop...

Yes it was in Freo... what should have been an exciting process was made very painful and tested our patience for this hobby of ours.

Steffen is making it work for him though... different expectations i think.

Its now in Malaga Rust... even when dave and I turned up they were rolling out a sweet yellow mustang. Results, thats what i like to see Cool

Will keep you posted

Progress! The new panel beating mob are cracking on nicely with the paint prep work and for once i am a happy lad with a clutch of good pictures to show Smile

I am finally looking forwards, not back.

But firstly - Seats, courtesy of kevin at trimtec here in Perth... these are fabulous and will surely be the nicest part of our bus!

The main course - Some pics taken today in Malaga...

Front panel bogged and ready for primer:

Top long side panel in prepped and primed

Straight straight straight:

Ditto:

Rear right corner, last coat of bog:

Left corner needs work... but notice no old bog now... clean as a whistle:

Plenty damage/ bad repair over the years:

Previously unknown damage in long side panel - amazing what hides under bog:

Dogleg on its way back to primer

Our bus - BOSH!

onwards.... upwards... to glory... to bankruptcy! Surprised

Wow Sam, that's great progress.... The trim looks sweet too.... Nice straight piping and pleats.... The trimmer is doing lovely work there... What's the plan for the doorcards and kick panel?

interior panels are my own home-made ones (to suit our retro-custom camping interior) with fabric from wolfsberg west
